Victoria Hammahs Driver Not KidnappedHe Is Under Protection

Lawrence Quayeson, driver of sacked Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hammah, who was allegedly kidnapped by some unknown men in the early hours of Monday, is reported to be in safe hands and cooling off in a safe place. After packing out of Victoria Hammahs house over the weekend, Lawrence Quayeson is reported to have sought refuge at a family residence near Dansoman. He reportedly went to the hideout Sunday morning to escape house arrest by family members It would be recalled that moments after the contents of tape recording was made public courtesy Adakabre Frimpong Manso on NeatFM, Lawrence, who is a cousin to the dismissed deputy minister, was arrested by the Mile 7 Police on Thursday evening following an official complaint lodged by the dismissed deputy minister, who accused him of secretly recording her private conversation. He was however bailed by the father on Friday evening without any charge. But barely 24 hours after he was bailed, he was quoted by a Accra-based Radio XYZ that he was contracted by Rachel Appoh, a Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection to secretly record Victoria Hammahs conversations. However, in a sharp volte-face, the driver accused family members of coercing him to frame up Rachel Appoh in another interview with JoyFM. But on Monday, news went viral that the driver was nowhere to be found. Nadia, a 14 year old girl who is also a family friend, told NEATFMs Adakabre Frimpong Manso that two unidentified men picked him up at his Dansoman hideout. According to her, at about 7:30 in the morning, Lawrence told her he was going to buy porridge when two guys came, just greeted him and said he should come. They drove off with him in a blue-black Toyota salon carI was not able to pick the license number of the vehicleI dont know where they took him to; he was charging the phone when they came so he just left the phone with me and went with them, she narrated. Enter, Fiifi Mensah, who describes himself as a confidante of Lawrence Quayeson. Fiifi, who is a senior Reporter at the state-owned Daily Graphic newspaper told Asempa FM that, Lawrence is safe and doing well. According to him, the controversy generated by the tape recording and its unfortunate ramifications compelled him and some other close friends of the driver to whisk him away to a secured place for safe-guarding. Lawrence (Vickys driver/cousin) is a close pal. Let me tell you something, Lawrence has not been kidnapped. Because of the controversy, some of his friends have taken him to a safe location for protection. He has not been kidnapped, he (Lawrence) is well and he is okay.., he assured. He however declined to disclose the whereabouts of the driver stressing that they believed his safety is at risk. Some might say the Vickyleaks saga indeed appears to contain more twists and turns than an M Night Shyamalan movie. We await what surprising plot is up next.
