Shut Up, You Are A Failure - Sekou Nkrumah Told

The Upper West Chapter of Friends of John Dramani Mahama have called on Sekou Nkrumah to desist with his attacks on President Mahama, describing him as a failure. According to the group, Sekous recent attacks on the President were aimed at making him politically relevant since he had become irrelevant. The statement issued and signed by the leader of the group, Puoire Prosper, expressed confidence in the leadership of President Mahama and his ability to fight corruption. Below is the full statement: We the Upper West Chapter of Friends of John Dramani Mahama unequivocally condemn the perpetual vituperation poured on the competences and capabilities of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and his government by the seeming politically confused son of Ghana first president (Sekou Nkrumah). Without any prejudice or malice, we have realized that his unrelenting criticisms are often short sighted, without any meaningful bearing and in fact only amounts to a perversion and misrepresentation of reality. Follow Ghanaians, we therefore wish to use this august platform to correct the erroneous impression that Sekou Nkrumah recently sought to create on OKAY FM that, His Excellency the president has lost the confidence of Ghanaians and that Ghanaians can no longer find solace in the NDC government which is just barely three months old now after the supreme court endorsement. We particularly find it sarcastic that Sekou Nkrumah who failed woefully when he was made Chief Executive of the Ghana Youth Authority suddenly finds some imputes to lambast the affable John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government who are leaving no stone unturned to make this country a cynosure for the rest of Africa. On his previous outburst on his Excellencys commitment to root out corruption, we put it to him and indeed to the good people of Ghana that, the John Dramani Mahama led administration so far have shown its readiness to deal unconditionally with the issue of corruption. This is manifested in the fact that barely three months after His Excellency John Dramani Mahamas mandate was confirmed by Ghanas supreme court, the government has taken bold steps to unearth all hideous acts of corruption perpetrated against the state and which were until recently kept out of the public domain by erstwhile regimes. We want to draw Sekou's attention to the fact that it is through the good will of the NDC government to fight corruption that a sole commissioner was appointed to investigate the authenticity of judgment debts that have been paid. The fruit of which is the infamous "Drill ship saga" among others. This we see as a step in the right direction in rooting out corruption which was thought to be an ailment without cure. We wonder whether Sekou Nkrumah was in this country when some leaders asserted that corruption was as old as Adam and therefore could not be rooted out. "We are unanimously of the conviction that Sekou Nkrumah's posture of playing the proverbial "squealer" in George Orwell's animal's farm is only to catapult him to look relevant in Ghana's political arena. We however wish to remind him that his abysmal performance at the Ghana Youth Authority where he failed to innovate any sound policy to enhance the living condition of millions of the youth in this country obviously has left him with no iota of integrity that he thinks he possesses. We therefore humbly call on Sekou Nkrumah to eschew the politics of vile propaganda and to stop amusing himself by ignorantly thinking that Ghanaians have lost confidence in John Mahama. "As youth, we want to publicly proclaim the full confidence we have in President Mahama's commitment to fight corruption which has not just started today but has been a conundrum on us since independence. We are very confident that President Mahama's regime shall be recorded with golden letters in our history books as one with appreciable success in fighting corruption and improving the living conditions of the masses of Ghanaians. With this conviction, we are cautioning that we shall unconditionally condemn any caliber of person or group of persons who will want to deliberately thwart the efforts of His Excellency President Mahama to succeed. We believe that, the turn has come for the youth to contribute our quota to National development. President Mahama bears the flag of the youth and we believe in his able leadership. Thank you. Long live President Mahama Long live the N .D.C Long live Ghana. ..... signed Puo-ire Prosper
