NDC Must Restore Sanity In Honour Of Harry Sawyer - Ex-Prez Rawlings

Former President Jerry Rawlings has called on the President and all leaders in the country to emulate the lifestyle and deeds of the late Harry Sawyer who contributed so much to the development of the country. According to him, all must join forces to help clean the country of some negatives that have engulfed the nation in honour of noble persons like Harry Sawyer and Justice D.F. Annan. Speaking during a visit to the family of the late Mr. Sawyer, Mr. Rawlings said Harry Sawyer who is pretty much like Justice Annan has been a man within the state who shares his wisdom, his concerns about things and has truly been one of the stabilizing personalities not just in government but in the society at large and within the party machinery when he would occasionally act as chairman of the council elders. Mr. Rawlings said, "if people had taken Harry Sawyers counsel a little bit more seriously, things probably would have been a little bit more different." I do not know how Harry would have felt about the situation the country finds herself in. The young president is doing what he can and is inviting all to get involved in fighting some of the negative tendencies in the country. I hope we will be able to restore some semblance of sanity in the not too long future and I say this because I don't think people like Harry and others should be seen to have wasted their lives, playing the role that we played for this country-the restoration of values only for things to be happening the way it happened since we left office.
