Soccer Fans Praise YamminOver Egypt Trip

SOCCER FANS that travelled to Cairo to support the Black Stars against Egypt have commended Deputy Sports Minister, Joseph Yammin, for the smooth arrangement regarding the trip. The government sponsored 300 soccer fans, mostly drawn from the supporter unions, to cheer the senior national team in the second leg World Cup play-off against Egypt in Cairo. These soccer fans, selected from across the country, were handled by the office of Hon. Yammin, prior to their departure to Egypt. Most of the fans that spoke to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS expressed satisfaction about the efficient manner in which Hon. Yammins office handled them. They said staffers at the ministers office extended adequate courtesy towards them and also proved that they were on top of issues. This, they noted, made their trip to Egypt enjoyable, devoid of any hitches. The fans therefore commended Hon. Yammin for a job well done, urging him to sustain his good works. The fans were particularly thrilled to see the Deputy Sports Minister at the airport around 3:00am on Tuesday, where he had gone to see them off. Hon Yammin, who did not travel to Egypt, told a section of the media that he visited the airport to ensure that the fans travelled to Egypt without problems. The soccer fans, who were delighted to see Hon. Yammin in their midst, showered praises on him and his government. I was shocked to see him (Yammin) here at this odd hour. Only a minister who is committed to his job will come to the airport at 3:00am just to see fans off, said Faisal, a soccer fan. I love the commitment the Deputy Minister and his boss (Elvis Afriyie Ankrah have shown so far. If every ministry will get a strong team like they have (at the Sports Ministry), we will go places as a nation, observed another fan, who gave his name as Dr. Obeng. The Deputy Minister shook hands and exchanged pleasantries with the soccer fans as he wished them a safe flight to Egypt and back.
