Mohammed Polo Appointed New Hearts Coach

Former Ghanaian international, Ahmed Polo, has been appointed the new head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak as David Duncan�s successor, Ghanasportsonline.com can reveal. Grapevine source from within the team has revealed that an official letter will be handed to the former Hearts talisman by close of day today. In a telephone chat with Ahmed Polo he conceded that he has been spoken to by some top guns of the club to take over as head coach but they are yet to give him an appointment letter to that effect. �Some top board members have spoken to me to take over the club as head coach but no official letter has been given me yet so I can not say I have been appointed,� Ahmed Polo told ghanasportsonline.com. As a player Polo played youth football with Auroras in Accra before signing for Hearts of Oak. Along with Mama Acqua, Anas Seidu, Peter Lampteyand Robert Hammond, they were known as the �Fearsome Five� and formed the backbone of the team.He was invited into the Black Stars at the age of 17 years. Mohammed Ahmed Polo popularly referred to as the soccer professor was appointed the Technical head of Great Olympics in January 2004.He now owns a soccer academy. He considers himself a better player than Lionel Messi.
