Ghana Will Make Africa Proud At The World Cup- Daniel Agyei

Ghana international goalkeeper Daniel Agyei spoke exclusively to the official website of his club Free State Stars after the Black Stars sealed their qualification to the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil. Agyei believes he is also capable of making the final squad for the tournament and has assured all and sundry that the Black Stars can go further than the quarter-final berth at the last tournament in South Africa 2010. Read details of the interview below: First of all congratulations on your qualification to next years Brazil Fifa World cup. Thank you and really much appreciate. How was the experience being called up for a big match like Egypt? It was a good experience indeed. It is always a good feeling to be recognized and to represent ones country at footballs highest level. I am very much happy that my hard work and dedication is being rewarded by a call up. How was the reception by the Egyptians? I think we had a warm welcome. Everything just went well, the hotel, transport, security and other logistics were superb. Its just on match day that things turned sour. What do you mean by sour? On the eve of the match it took us about 15 minutes to get to the stadium for our last training session, but somehow on match day on our way to the stadium it took us an hour. I think the bus driver took the long route maybe for us to arrive late at the stadium and to hamper our preparations. Another predicament was the laser light which is used by the supporters. I feel that FIFA must take drastic measures against the unruly supporters who persistently use the lasers. I had a good feel what Orlando Pirates was feeling when they played in the Champions league in Egypt. How do you fancy your chances of being called up for the final squad that will be going to Brazil? Look I am working very hard to sustain my place as the number one in the team and if I continue working the way I do now, I have no doubt that I will be part of the team that will be travelling to Brazil. My first priority now is to play regularly for my club, to do well and win silverware with them that alone will make sure that I get the nod come the final selection. In the last World cup that was staged in Africa in 2010 Ghana went as far as the semifinal, how do you think African countries in particular Ghana will do in Brazil? Look my man I am not going to talk about other teams because I dont know anything about them, but what I can tell you is that we will go a step further and we will make Africans proud. Its high time that we as Africans show the world what we are made of.
