Ghanaian Defender Konadu Turns Down Tunisia's Request To Switch Nationality

Ghanaian defender Seth Konadu has abandoned plans to switch nationality in order to play for Tunisia. The 23-year-old was considering proposals from the Tunisian FA to start proceedings with FIFA over a change in nationality to make him eligible to play for the Carthage Eagles. Konadu has not been handed an international chance by Ghana despite his consistent displays with CS Sfaxien. The continued snub by coach Akwasi Appiah is said to have pushed the full back into considering the switch to play for Tunisia. But the ex Great Olympics player says he has had a change of mind despite heightened pressure from the Tunisian federation following his CAF Confederations Cup success with Sfaxien preferring to wait patiently for his chance to play for the Black Stars. Not again [about consideration to play for Tunisia] because I still believe one day Ghana will call me, he told GHANAsoccernet.com. Konadu could be thrown in international lifeline following Ghanas qualification to the 2014 World Cup. Coach Akwasi Appiah will be assessing several Ghanaian prospects in friendly matches that will be lined up by the Ghana FA to shape up the side ahead of next years World Cup in Brazil.
