TUC Boss Dismisses $4000 Allowance Cover Up

The General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress, Kofi Asamoah has denied media reports that he benefited from $4000 for no work done, which has been covered up by the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations. A statement signed by Mr Asamoah on Wednesday said the story was published by The Moment newspaper dated 27th November, 2013 to 28th November, 2013. The statement said, I wish to state clearly and unambiguously, that your said story is inaccurate, malicious and purposefully calculated to tarnish my hard earned reputation in the minds of right thinking members of the working people of Ghana in particular and the Ghanaian Public in general. It pointed out that, The correct facts of the matter are that the Government through the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations has an obligation under the Conventions and Recommendation of the International Labour Organization (ILO) to finance the participation of the leaders of the workers group and the employers group to the annual conference of the ILO.
