Tony Aidoo Lacks Finesse; Hes Not Known For DiplomacyIn Fact Hes Unfit To Be An Ambassador

After weeks of media speculation that Dr. Anthony Kwabena Aidoo might not head the Policy Monitoring and Evaluation Unit at the Presidency again, President John Dramani Mahama, on Monday, November 25, 2013, finally appointed him and nine other NDC bigwigs as ambassadors-designate though, no mentioned was made about their countries of accreditation. But an activist of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) believes his (Aidoos) appointment is waste of resources. Prior to his appointment as ambassador, Dr Tony Aidoo made the headlines when he publicly complained of how the Mahama-led administration of which he is a senior member, was starving his outfit (Policy Monitoring and Evaluation Unit at the Presidency) of the needed funds, alleging his outfit had been deliberately rendered dormant after the death of the late President John Atta Mills who created that office. Speaking on the ambassadorial appointment of Dr. Tony Aidoo, the NPP National Youth Organizer aspirant averred on Okay fm that the appointment of the ten NDC bigwigs who once served under the late President Mills is meant to stop them from being a source of bother to the current administration. Assessing the personality trait of Dr. Tony Aidoo in his new appointment, the chairman of NPPs Young Patriots disclosed that the mannerism of the NDC bigwig is nothing good to write home about as he has on occasion threatened someone in public with gun without any reasonable cause. ..he has been appointed to represent Ghana as a diplomat but this is not a man known for finesse; he is not known for diplomacyhe is not known to be decorous in his speech because he speaks anyhow and you know that diplomacy require at least some decorum. My point is that, Dr. Tony Aidoo is not fit to be an ambassador because he does not know the difference between speaking on radio and speaking privately, he pontificated. He surmised that President Mahamas latest appointment is simply meant to keep internal critics off his back in order for him to have full access to run the country without any interference from NDC dissenters. with Tony Aidoos background, whichever country he is asked to represent the country in, we will be seen as unseriousTony Aidoo is just going to waste state resources, Richard Nyamah said.
