Kotoko Subdue Medeama To Stretch Lead

Asante Kotoko clinched a 4-1 victory over visiting Medeama in their Premier League match day 14 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, on Sunday. The one-sided match saw the defending champions dominating the visitors in all departments with Seidu Bansey leading the onslaught. The Porcupine Warriors broke the deadlock on 39 minutes when Bansey sneaked past his marker to connect home an Amos Frimpong well-calculated pass. The in-form striker was on target again six minutes on with a beautiful strike, combining effectively with Prince Baffoe to beat Medeama's goalie, Adade Foli. The visitors varied their tactics in the second half, marshalling more men in midfield, but their pride were dented as Bansey provided an assist for Jordan Opoku to fetch the third for Kotoko in the 48th minute. The visitors, at this stage, threw caution to the wind, attacking their opponents from angles to score a consolation in the 83rd minute courtesy Kennedy Boateng. Baffoe completed the demolition exercise for Kotoko, scoring on the 90th minute after he took on the Medeama defence in a solo effort.
