A group, describing itself as �NPP Youth For 2016�, has in a rather sharp rebuttal to ex-President Rawlings�s claim that his successor, John Agyekum Kufuor �monopolized corruption for himself�, slated Mr Rawlings asking him not to look far but within the party he founded, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), if he desires to do a �sincere count of corrupt persons in Ghana�. Signing the book of condolence in honour of late South African President, Nelson Mandela, at the South African High Commission in Accra, Mr. Rawlings once more ripped into his successor accusing him of being �autocratic�. �The difference between John Mills and Kufuor is that Kufuor was so autocratic...They had used the military and the police to subjugate the spirit of the people that he was the only one who could do corrupt things plus his family and those he would allow, and he would jail anybody else who did not have his permission to be corrupt, so there was a way in which his regime looked orderly because nobody else could engage in it except himself or gave you the permission�(Kufuor�s) regime got so corrupt that America had to send the CIA boss�to come and warn Kufuor that �if you don�t contain your corruption, there�ll be a coup d��tat and it will be very popular and that�s why America will not be able to help you,� he disclosed. But in a strongly worded statement, the pro-NPP group rather accused Mr Rawlings of representing �colour of corruption� and providing a �platform for scheming sketchy deals against the nation Ghana�. The group warned that Mr Rawlings will do himself good and gain some moral authority for himself, �if he can clean his own house, the NDC with urgency and stop those unnecessary attacks on President Kufour.� �Truth is that, Mr. Rawlings had a very nice opportunity to explain to the deserving Ghanaians, his wife, Mrs. Rawlings' kalabuley way of acquiring the Nsawam Cannery, a state owned factory�.Mabey and Johnson happened under the leadership of President Rawlings. So quite clearly, Mr. Rawlings either thinks Ghanaians have forgotten, or wishes we forget the rot he led�.The never ending list of Woyome, Watervile, Isofoton, etc, which led to Justice Dotse�s famous assertion of create, loot and share brigade, demands Rawlings' attention�.Fellows are fairly right to question the sudden silence and blindness of Mr. Rawlings on the massive corruption under President Mahama. Below is the full statement issued by the group. CORRUPTION IN GHANA: EXPOSING HYPOCRICY OF RAWLINGS; SEE NO EVIL HEAR NO EVIL, BUT ENJOY MASSIVE CORRUPTION UNDER NDC REGIME. Consistently for decades, former President Rawlings has faced citizens of Ghana with cruel irony of citing innocent Ghanaians and their families for corrupt practices without good grounds. But in any sincere count of corrupt persons in Ghana, Mr. Rawlings must not look far but within his own, the NDC government. Signing the book of condolence upon demise of Nelson Mandela, Mr. Rawlings once more took President Kufour to the unfair land of baseless criticism. Truth is that, Mr. Rawlings had a very nice opportunity to explain to the deserving Ghanaians, his wife, Mrs. Rawlings' kalabuley way of acquiring the Nsawam Cannery, a state owned factory. He again missed the opportunity to show the fast way by which young soldier who could not afford food and furniture, can now afford houses, cars, and to pay his kids school fees abroad. Mabey and Johnson happened under the leadership of President Rawlings. So quite clearly, Mr. Rawlings either thinks Ghanaians have forgotten, or wishes we forget the rot he led. The most unfortunate Mills led NDC government in its shameless and singular purpose of draining Ghana through sketchy judgment debt deals must not be lost so soon on the mind of Mr. Rawlings. The never ending list of Woyome, Watervile, Isofoton, etc, which led to Justice Dotse�s famous assertion of create, loot and share brigade, demands Rawlings' attention. Ghanaians are surely much awake and wiser than Mr. Rawlings takes us for. Fellows are fairly right to question the sudden silence and blindness of Mr. Rawlings on the massive corruption under President Mahama. Time and again, NDC which is the creature of Mr. Rawlings has represented colour of corruption, and a platform for scheming sketchy deals against the nation Ghana. President Rawlings will do himself so much good, sweep Ghana much neat, and gain for himself the moral authority, if he can clean his own house, the NDC with urgency and stop those unnecessary attacks on President Kufour.
