USA Will Be Our Biggest Threat, Admits Assistant Ghana Coach Maxwell Konadu

The assistant Black Stars coach has penciled down USA as Ghanas main threat at the 2014 World Cup. Deputy Black Stars coach, Maxwell Konadu has identified USA as Ghanas biggest threat in Group G of the 2014 World Cup. The four-time African champions will begin their campaign with the USA clash on June 16, 2014. The Black Stars have beaten the Americans twice in the last two World Cups in Germany and South Africa. Ghana beat USA 2-1 at the group stage of the 2006 World Cup and repeated the scoreline when the two sides met at the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup. In what happens to be a straight third meeting at the global showpiece, Konadu believes this particular battle will be very tough for his team. We have played them twice and beaten them on both occasions and I dont think they will like to be beaten thrice so that tells the story. It will be our first game of the competition and a win will boost our chances of progressing beyond the group stage but trust me it wouldnt be easy. We need to prepare very well and with that our chances will be bright, the former Kotoko coach told allsports.com.gh.
