Ghanaian Referees Eying CHAN Slot

Ghanaian referees are eying slots at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) billed for South Africa next January, after impressing at the just ended Confederation of African Football (CAF) elite �A� referees course in Cairo, Egypt. Information pieced together by GNA Sports indicates referees Joseph Lamptey and Emmanuela Aglagoh together with assistant referee, Abdul Malik Salifu impressed at the course which pieced together 64 persons across the continent. The elite �A� course, aimed at selecting officials for the biannual championship, the 2014 World Cup in Brazil plus other major competition for the ensuing year is considered for highly rated officials. The trio are hoping to catch the eye of the CAF referees� committee expected to fashion out the personnel for the South Africa event which the Local Black Stars will represent Ghana. If selected, it will be assistant referee, Abdul Malik�s second consecutive tournament in South Africa following his role at the last Nations Cup at the Rainbow nation which the Super Eagles of Nigeria won early this year.
