Total Lack Of Respect For Elders In NPP Ashanti Region

A founder member of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, George Ayisi Boateng, has bemoaned what he claims to be the total disrespect for the elders of the party in the region. According to him, the problem of the party in the region is peculiar and would only take respect for old age, to resolve it. Few flashpoints have occured in the Region, with regards to the ongoing election of polling station executives and the Kumawu Constituency is one of those areas where party executives, including the Member of Parliament of the area, are said to be at loggerheads. This feud breaking the front of the party could have serious repercussions for the party, as far as electoral fortunes are concerned and as a leading member of the Party, I am sad that some of these things are going on in the Ashanti Regionif you observe carefully, you would realize that it is only in this Region the NPP has huge problems and it is because in the Ashanti Region, there is no respect for the elderly in the NPP. Even with the Kumawu issue, I called the Chairman but he told me to the face that he cannot make timeThe same applies to the MP. I calledhe also told me he does not have time so he would not come. Those are not the only areas.Ejisu, Nsuta-Kwaman, Manhyia North and many other areas, he told Adakabre Frimpong Manso on NEAT FM. George Ayisi Baoteng, who is also the Chairman of the partys Conflict Resolution Committee in the Ashanti Region further lamented the fact that certain people believe they can always have their way because of their financial status. He made these comments after the Kumawu Constituency Chairman of the NPP accused the General Secretary of the Party, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and other leading members of the party of selectivity in the distribution of polling station election forms. Mr. Ayisi Boateng is of the opinion that the issue could have been resolved long ago, if not for the fact that certain individuals have become arrogant and would therefore not listen to wisdom. today, members of the party have no reverence for old age but that is not how we formed this party. In the formative days of the party, the elderly listened to the young and vise versa.
