If things had worked out as planned, Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama would have ended up serving as vice president for the New Patriotic Party. A founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Executive Chairman of the Ghana School feeding Progarmme, Dr. Amoako Tuffour, rolled out this classified information on OKAY FM. According to him, the PNC�s Edward Mahama initially looked appealing to partner ex-president Kufour but with suggestions that came up, their attention fell on the late vice president, Aliu Mahama. Dr. Amoako Tuffour refused to comment further on what stalled the NPP leaders from making Dr. Mahama their vice president but added that they were blessed to have found the best replacement to aid ex-president Kufour drive the nation forward.
