We Are On Course For A Good Year In 2014 With The Solid Foundation Laid By Prez Mahama

President John Mahama, on Thursday, inaugurated the final phase of the Bui Hydroelectric Power Project at Bui in the Brong-Ahafo Region. President John Mahama says his government will transit from first to second gear in 2014, after using this year to lay a very solid foundation for the economy. According to Mr. Mahama, his government will build on the foundation laid in 2013 by continuing those policy initiatives that we want to pursue to ginger the Ghanaian private sector in terms of local content, in terms of using governments procurement power to empower the Ghanaian private sector and so many other initiatives. Hinting about what to expect next year, in terms of developing the economy, President Mahama said: We think that it is time to diversify our countrys economy. Following the commissioning of this landmark project, a member of the Governments Communication Team, is convinced the president has really laid a solid foundation for the coming year. Gabby Assumeng, however, admitted on Okay Fm that 2013 was a challenging one for the country. .2013 is a year the whole country experienced hardship; we have had issues with energy generation and since this has been resolved, it is enough to say a good foundation has been laid for takeoff in 2014. With the completion of the 400 megawatts Bui Hydroelectric power project, there will be enough electricity for industries and domestic use, he surmised. He stressed that President Mahama has stimulated the economic growth with the completion of the Bui Dam, the roads and the various water projects in Mampong and Teshie-Nungua as these are the necessary infrastructural tools necessary for development as a middle-income country. .having laid the foundation of the economic growth on energy, water and roads, next year will be a very interesting year for the countryas we couldnt fulfill our promise to build 50 basic schools every year, we will do it next year due to the good foundation President Mahama has laid, Gabby Assumeng said.
