Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. says the �recklessness and indiscipline� in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is because the party is now being run by �diaper wearing babies�. He described as worrying how people with dissenting opinions have now been �criminalized� in the party which professes to be the champions of liberal democratic ideals. Kwesi Pratt was reacting to the vitriolic attacks on party stalwart, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku for urging delegates to elect in his view a flagbearer who is appealing to majority of voters. Dr. Apraku admonished the delegates of the party to change the candidate who led the party in the 2008 and 2012 elections if they want the party to win the 2016 election. But some fervent supporters of Nana Akufo-Addo attacked Dr. Apraku for what they described as a deliberate ploy to make Akufo-Addo unpopular in the party. Speaking on Radio Gold's Ahaji and Alhaji on Saturday, Kwesi Pratt said he is not surprised about the current development in the NPP since �diaper wearing babies of 1992 all of a sudden are more sensible than Apraku and others�. �If you have a party in which when acclaimed leaders speak their minds they suffer the possibility of lynching, what does that say about the democratic credentials of that party?� he quizzed. Kwesi Pratt noted that the standards of the NPP have fallen to an all time low due the activities of people he called latter day saints in the the party. The Insight Editor described as exceedingly worrying how �people who were wearing diapers when the party was formed and those in primary school at the time have now become the public face of NPP�. Kwesi Pratt wondered how the NPP can make progress and convince the electorates to vote for them �with this infantile politicking�. �I really wish the New Patriotic Party well but they got to change their actions if they want to be taken seriously by the Ghanaians electorate. This is shameful� he exclaimed.
