Alan Cash: I Have An Interest In Contesting NPP Flagbearership But,.

Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, a one-time presidential hopeful of the biggest opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has admitted that though he desires to lead the party in the near future, what is paramount now is the need to unite and work in harmony with one another. He made this known after a presentation of gift items and foodstuffs to the Osu Childrens Home in Accra. Hebrews 13: 16 states Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Perhaps, it was therefore in accordance with this directive that the NPP flagbearer aspirant donated the items. In the view of Mr Kyeremanteng, Christmas and the New Year is time for sharing and merry making. It is best to share with children but it is even better to give to orphans and it is for that reason he decided to put smiles on the faces of children at the Orphanage. Speaking to the media after the presentation at the forecourt of the Osu Childrens Home, the former Trade Minister in the erstwhile Kufour Administration made an introspection of the year 2013. my career was quiet a challenging one. It is very rewarding; in terms of the kind of work I was doing on behalf of the Continent. I am sure you are aware that I was one of the technical leads for developing a new framework for establishing a continental free trade area in Africa. I was also at the forefront of shaping a new agenda for African Union to boost intra African trade. beyond that, I am sure you are also aware that I was Africas candidate for the position of the Director General of the WTO. I believe the fact that I was one of the lead candidates in itself is a tribute for Ghana. And if Africa had kept together as a bloc, I believe that we would have had the first Director General of the WTO (from Ghana), Mr. Kyeremanten revealed. Looking forward into the New Year, 2014, Alan Kyeremanten stated that he would continue to pursue his career as a Lawyer and as a management consultant, I will still be actively involved in politics. As you know, Im a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and I believe that the people are waiting to put the party back into power in 2016 and to provide the same kind of progressive, constructive and the forward-looking leadership that we gave over the eight years we were in power. When he was quizzed as to whether he was looking at an NPP return to power under his leadership as the flagbearer, Mr. Kyeremanten disclosed though he still harbors the interest of leading the party, the issue now is not about who leads party but unity. I have an interest in contesting but this is not the time and forum for an announcement about my intention. The issue is not who leads the NPP but the issue is how we work together for a unified party to come into power, he argued.
