NPP Shakes Ksi

Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) started the New Year on a flashy note, as they virtually took over the streets of Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital causing massive vehicular traffic on the streets. Hundreds of NPP supporters in Kumasi, who were clad in the paraphernalia of the largest opposition political party, totally invaded the principal streets of the city when Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Wontumi, who is contesting for the Ashanti regional chairmanship position of the NPP, travelled to the partys office at Bantama to pick his nomination forms. Wontumis bid to become the next Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP seems to have been endorsed by the large number of NPP supporters in the area. The enthusiastic NPP supporters, including the elderly and young, came out in their numbers to support Wontumi when he decided to pick his nomination form. The principal streets in the Garden City from Asafo to the Central market area through to Adum the Central Business District and finally at Bantama were invaded by NPP supporters. Some market women at the Kumasi Central Market left their goods and joined the jamboree. The market women said they were glad to see the NPP colours being displayed boldly in the city . Charged NPP supporters at Kejetia Bus Terminal area, the famous terminal, also rushed to catch a glimpse of Antwi Boasiako. Wontumi, who was thrilled about the massive support that he was enjoying, waved at the NPP supporters. When NPP faithful got information about Wontumis arrival at the partys offices, they hurriedly besieged the streets to catch a glimpse of him. Wontumi and his entourage were warmly welcomed at the NPPs regional office at Bantama at 12 noon by the executives. Wontumi, who was overwhelmed by the events, exchanged pleasantries with the party faithful, who loudly chanted his name. The incumbent Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, F.F. Anto, commended Wontumi and his team for rejuvenating the NPP in the region. The NPP virtually went dead after the decision of the Supreme Court on the election petition. From what I have seen today, I can boldly state that the NPP is strong to win the 2016 polls, he said. George Kofi Adjei aka Geokad, NPP Nhyiaeso Chairman, Nana Asare Bediako, NPP Asokwa Chairman and Andy Owusu, Wontumis Campaign Manager accompanied Wontumi to the partys office.
