Yamoah Ponkoh Slapped

Mr. Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ejisu/Juaben in the Ashanti Region, has been allegedly slapped by a fuel station owner in the Ejisu Municipality. Narrating how it all happened on Peace FMs premium morning show Kokrokoo, Mr. Yamoah Ponkoh recounted that he was in his office working when Sheikh; owner of a gas filling station; and another gentleman visited to inquire from him (MCE) why his (Sheikh) gas filling station had been locked up by the assembly, though he had a permit to operate it. According to him, even though rumours has it that I went there (fuel station), I didnt go there because there was a task force in charge of making sure such companies have permitwhen he came he was very polite and logged his complaint. I asked him to show me the permit; he brought a paper out which I realized was a receiptall of a sudden he pounced on me; I couldnt even defend myself; up till now, it baffles me The MCE said he did not retaliate, despite being slapped more than twice by the Sheikh, adding that by the time the police were called to the scene, Sheikh had vanished, leaving his behind his footwear. I never slapped or attacked himwhen he heard that people were coming to my rescue, he escaped and even left behind his slippersLooking at my structure, I could have even done worse to him but I will not do that to soil the reputation of my government he said. The Ejisu/Juaben MCE also indicated that the police were investigating the matter, as the man who accompanied Sheikh was in police grip.
