Kojo Bonsu Pledges To Work With Media For Development

The Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Mr Kojo Bonsu, has pledged his commitment to work in close collaboration with the media to enhance effective development of the metropolis. He said his doors were always opened and assured that he was willing to accept criticisms from the media. Mr Bonsu stated this at a press soiree he organised for the media at his residence in Kumasi last Saturday. He told the media that they were catalyst for development. He stressed that information flow and management were essential to the prevalence of peace, order and stability which were core for accelerated and sustained socio-economic development. He also expressed the optimism that the media, which was the Fourth Estate of the realm, had a major role to play in national development effort. Mr Bonsu said it was his intention to work assiduously to ensure that the metropolis became a show-piece and emphasised that all his good intentions could materialise through the concerted efforts of both the media and the general public. The Soiree provided an opportunity for the mayor to interact with the media and made the media to realise the good intentions he had for them and the metropolis. Present at the function were Mr Samuel Yaw Adusei, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, and his wife and Mr Listowell Yesu Bukarson, the Chairman of the Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA).
