Thousands of Ghanaians across the country have benefited from Vodafone Ghana�s Christmas initiative �Make a Wish�, a campaign launched a few weeks to Christmas to make the season exciting and memorable for Ghanaians, by fulfilling their Christmas wishes. Vodafone gave away items ranging from cooking utensils to electrical appliances, building materials, groceries, clothing and hampers just to mention a few. Yaw Adu, a 40 years old visually impaired who lives with his wife in Nkwakwa in the Eastern Region, wanted a bag of rice for the holidays. Vodafone granted his wish and in addition gave him groceries and a Christmas hamper. Yaw could not hide his joy, ��I�m so glad I shared my wish with Vodafone, I can�t believe this is real. This is the first time I have received a gift in three years from anyone�� he exclaimed. Vodafone Ghana also fulfilled the wish of Joshua Addo-Kuffour, a social worker at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital by paying the medical bills for eight needy patients so they could go home and spend the holidays with their families. ��These are patients who have undergone various treatments but cannot leave the hospital because they are unable to pay their medical bills. I am so grateful to Vodafone,� he said. Seth Oduro, a teacher by profession and widower with two children wanted Vodafone to support him in providing for the elderly in his neighborhood, Begoro in the Eastern region. Seth was overwhelmed when the Vodafone gave him bags of rice, gallons of oil, cartons of milk and several others to share among the elderly and physically challenged. Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Uche Ofodile, said Vodafone has a long history of supporting communities and �Make a Wish� is one such initiative to give back for the season. �We know that not everyone will get the opportunity to celebrate Christmas cheerfully, so this is our way of making a difference in their lives by bringing smiles into their homes.� Vodafone Ghana received thousands of entries through selected radio stations across the country. The radio stations included Happy FM and OK FM in Greater Accra, Aseda FM in Western Region, Fox FM in Ashanti Region, Ark FM in Brong-Ahafo Region, Lorlornyo in Volta Region, Fiila FM in Northern Region, Life FM in Eastern Region, Sompa in Central Region, Radford Radio in Upper East, and Gurune FM in Upper West.
