Ghana FA Not Rushed Into Announcing World Cup Plans

The Ghana FA says it is not in a haste to make announcements over their World Cup plans for the Black Stars while opponents; USA are already in implementation. The Ghana FA remain in the process of lining up friendly games to prepare the Black Stars adequately for the World Cup in June. Ghanas group opponents; USA and Germany have announced friendly matches against South Korea and Cameroon respectively. The USA have even began a training camp which include a one-week session in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo five months towards the tournament. But the Ghana FA says it is in no haste to announce World Cup plans as they seek to finalize everything before making any public pronouncements. It was reported that Cameroon is playing Argentina in a friendly only for the Argentinean FA to come out to say its not true. This is not a situation we want for Ghana, Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie-Daara said. We dont want to rush to embarrass ourselves on the world stage like that. I can assure you that comprehensive plans are being made to help prepare the team well for the World Cup. We are looking at issues of scouting, training camps, friendly games and other things. Once these plans are firmed up, we will call a press conference to make it known to the Ghanaian public. Ghana will kick off its third successive campaign at the World Cup on June 16 against USA in Natal before facing Germany and Portugal in Foraleza and Brasilia respectively.
