NPP Gets Office Complex (Photo)

The dream of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) branch of the Ashanti region to obtain a decent regional office complex to help the partys executives to execute their duties effectively has become a reality. A staunch NPP member, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly called Wontumi, rented the new complex, which is located at Krofrom, one of the popular neighbourhoods in the city, for 10 years for the largest opposition party with his own money. The new office complex is located opposite Shinola, a popular drinking spot in the Garden City. The current NPP Ashanti regional office at Bantama is so small that the party does not organize press conferences and other serious activities there. Luckily, the new office, a three-storey building with a Boys quarters, has a spacious car park and three spacious conference rooms. It also has rest rooms for executives and officials whose contributions are crucial for the partys development. It also has offices for the NPPs flagbearer, council of elders, NPP founding fathers, NPP MPs in the region, Ashanti Regional NPP executives and NPP constituency chairmen in the region. It has extra offices for the partys regional legal team, research team, operations team, NPP serial callers and a computer room, where journalists who attend programmes at the place, could file their stories. Wontumi told Daily Guide in an exclusive interview on Sunday after shortly paying the money that the new office complex would officially be opened to the public on January 22, 2013. He announced plans to brand the entire building in the partys colours to beautify it. Wontumi noted that he would also refurbish offices and rooms in the building before the official commissioning. He told the paper that the partys current regional office at Bantama doesnt befit the status of the formidable political party, hence his decision to rent a decent place for the party. I decided to pay for a building because I love the party with all my heart and I think this is one of the things I can do to show my love to the NPP. He said loyal members of the opposition party must contribute both in cash and kind to help make the party attractive to more people. Wontumi said the imposing edifice could serve the needs of executives in Brong Ahafo region, among others.
