Xandy Kamel, first daughter of the late Hon Henry Ford Kofi Kamel Regional Minister and MP for Buem Constituency, who launched her foundation on behalf of her late dad not too long ago, has officially announced her entry into the movie industry. She was amongst the finalists who were chosen. According to her, after the audition, they travelled to Bojuase to shoot a movie titled goddess of the tree with celebrities like Kofi Adjorlolo, Olu Jacobs, and others. She revealed that after a few days on the set, one of the upcoming actors who was supposed to play a lead role with her, died, so they had to halt shooting. She continued that, from 2006, after they break from movie set at Bojuase, she came to Accra to continue with her education because her late dad was more interested in seeing her complete her education before any other thing. Talking about her great comeback into the industry, Xandy stated that she went to Kejetia to buy movies; there, she met a producer by name Macho Productions. He spoke to her about his forthcoming movie and wanted her to star in it. Xandy added that after that proposal, she had the opportunity to star in a commercially released movie titled Marry Kronkron which she acted alongside Emelia Brobbey. Explaining why most of the movies she has starred in so far are all Kumasi films, Xandy said first, that is the industry that discovered me. Also, I personally dont screen between Kumasi and Accra films. What matter is a good film. However, I have starred in some yet to be released English films.
