Rawlings Is Jealous Of Kufuor...

Main opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has opined that ex-President Rawlings continuous castigation of former President John Agyekum Kufuor is due to jealousy and envy. Party Chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey told Tweneboa Kodua, on Kokrokoo Friday that because Mr Kufuor is respected and revered worldwide due to his conduct after exiting office, he (Rawlings) is envious. We are getting tired of hearing from former President Rawlings. His continuous attack on President Kufuor is because of envy; All this is because President Kufuor has finished his time as President and hes held in high esteem across the world Former President Rawlings has once again become the topic of discussion and controversy after he described former President Kufuor as an autocratic thief Speaking as the Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony of the regional camp of the International Youth Fellowship at the Adidome Senior High School in the Volta Region, Rawlings accused Kufuor of stealing massively while in office between 2001 and 2008 and swore never to stop reminding Ghanaians of former President Kufuor's alleged corrupt nature as well as the manner in which he plundered state resources while in office. However, Jake thinks instead of Rawlings insisting on attacking and slighting Mr. Kufuor, he (Rawlings) should rather channel his strength and advice into the development of the country and eradication of the canker, corruption. He said: It is time he settles down and starts making some introspection and help with the experience he has had. Lets have some sensible advise as to how to tackle corruptionbeing Head of State for almost twenty years, you should have some real ideas about how to deal with it (corruption) instead of executing everybody who you think might have done something wrong. According to the NPP Chair, they will let him (Rawlings) continue to talk; however, every once in a while, we will remind people of the baselessness of his speech. This is a country in serious trouble. He has had almost 20 years of getting us into this trouble and so he should be part of the solution Jake advised Mr. Rawlings.
