Mr Emmanuel Adesi, Acting Koforidua District Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has announced that electricity flow in the area had now become stable and that the load shedding exercise was over. He said apart from unexpected emergencies or the Volta River Authority (VRA) going off without notice, electricity flow in the area would remain stable, adding, �I wish to inform people of Koforidua that load shedding is over here.� Mr Adesi was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Koforidua on Thursday in reaction to power outage for over two hours in the whole of Koforidua on Thursday afternoon. The whole of Koforidua experienced power outage between 12:00 and 1434 hours on Thursday when businesses which use electricity came to a halt, thereby, making them to think that it was a come-back to the era they termed �dumso�. Earlier on Tuesday night, some parts of Soredae, a suburb of Koforidua experienced the same challenge for some time. Mr Adesi explained that, the Koforidua main feeder (system) situated at Akyem Tafo in the East Akyem Municipality suddenly developed a fault which resulted in the lights going off in the whole area. He said, the main feeder provide electricity to five areas including Kyebi, Akyem Tafo, Suhum, Asesewa and Koforidua, indicating that, it was not Koforidua alone but all those areas also experienced the power outage. �We have actually put in place mechanisms to check all these negative developments, yet it happened. It is just unfortunate; it is not also true that we have started load shedding exercise. We would have informed the public about it,� he said.
