A Tarkwa circuit court has sentenced a teacher of Carrier Builders Academy school in Bogoso in the Prestea Huni district to 10 years imprisonment for defiling a 14- year-old student in the same school.
Tawiah Sackey, 24 was convicted on his own plea.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the victim lived with her parents at Bogoso whilst the convict reside at Nyamekyekrom, a suburb of Bogoso.
She said on January 8, this year, at about 1300 hours, whilst in school the convict informed the victim that her terminal report card was ready in his house and therefore asked her to follow him to Nyamekyekrom for it.
According to the Prosecutor, when she got to Tawiah�s house he lured the victim into his room and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her, after which he told her not to inform anybody about the act.
Inspector Tawiah said, the victim could not endure the pains and so she narrated her ordeal to her father in tears when she got home.
She said, a report was made to the police and the convict was arrested and charged with the offence.
