Prez Mahama Will Rather Wish For The Collapse Of NDC Than Fight Corruption

General Secretary for Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) Kofi Asamoah has opined that President John Dramani Mahama has shown no political commitment and will to fighting corruption in the country. Members of the PPP, led by their founder, Dr Papa Kwesi Ndoum, last Saturday, took to the principal streets of Cape Coast to demonstrate against what they said was the rising corrupt practices in the country. The demonstration, which was on the theme, Ebi nom tse yie, literally meaning Some are living in comfort, began from the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium and went through the Starlet 91 Road, Mfantsipim School Junction, Kotokuraba Market, London Bridge and Coronation Street. According to Kofi Asamoah, the problem in the country is not about NPP and NDC and neither is it about PPP ganging up against any political party but rather the general hardship which corruption has subjected the country to. Speaking in an interview on Hot Fm, the PPP General Secretary maintained that the lackadaisical approach to fighting corruption by successive governments has bred different classes of corruption culminating in the infamous GYEEDA, Isofoton, SADA, SUBAH Infosolutions and Woyome saga. the unavailability of jobs for the people, children unable to go to school and pay school fees is as a result of corruption and excessive dissipation of state funds by politicians. We have corruption in classes; we have class one, JHS and PhD and what we are talking about is in PhD level which has translated into GYEEDA, Isofoton, SADA, SUBAH Infosolutions and Woyomewe are on the street demonstrating so that the state funds will not be shared among the politicians and their families, he pontificated. He was critical on the trend of political discussion in the media, expressing worry that every discussion has now been reduced to competition between NPP and NDC regimes which largely amassed wealth illegally to the disadvantage of development. the President says he is fighting corruption but then he is deceiving us. President Mahamas behavior shows he will rather see the collapse of NDC than fight corruption in his government..our demonstration is to keep the President accountable as he did not give a proper account of his stewardship in 2013; we dont want the same to happen in his remaining three years, he opined.
