Mahamas Commitment To Fighting Corruption Is Only Discernible In The Mind Of Rawlings

A member of the communication team of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Richard Asante Yeboah says Former President Jerry John Rawlings wants to warm himself into the good books of President John Dramani Mahama after he lost favor with the Mills government hence his overly defensive posture of the current administration on the issue of corruption. Mr. Rawlings has on several occasions leveled corruption allegations against ex-president Kuffour and his government during their eight years in office. At a recent speech in the Volta region, former President Rawlings described his successor John Kufuor as an autocratic thief. Mr Rawlings office has however denied claims that he has intentionally not been critical of the Mahama administration as far as corruption is concerned but added that President Mahamas commitment to fighting corruption is what has caused Mr. Rawlings not to scathingly attack him in the media as he did to previous Presidents. Speaking to the issue of Rawlings blind-eye turned to corrupt acts under the Mahama-led administration, the NPP communicator told Peacefmonline.com that Rawlings has completely lost relevance in terms of the times and moment in the political dispensation. He urged Mr Rawlings to impress on President Mahama to prosecute ex-president Kuffour and any other persons he (Rawlings) believes stole from the coffers of the state since it appears he (Mahama) is committed to fighting corruption in the country. why is Rawlings praising Mahama in the wake of GYEEDA report, SUBAH Infosolutions and SADA project which are fused with corruption? If indeed the President is committed to fighting corruption but it is only Rawlings who knows about it then it is very rare because it should have been visible to everybody in the country and not only in the mind of Rawlings, he pontificated.
