He said it was necessary to honour people when they were alive for their sterling performances for others to emulate but not when they were dead and called for a reversal of the trend. For Mr Sarpong, he said while he (Sarpong) was the KMA Boss, he worked hard to win the support of his assembly members where he helped initiated a number of projects in the Kumasi metropolis, though the KMA is the hottest seat of government in the Ashanti Region. He said Mr Sarpong while in office also sought for a decongestion exercise towards proper management of the Kumasi city, supported sanitation and education development in the KMA and that his contribution needs to be acknowledged. Mr Ayarkwa as DCE, he said had been accessible to the people who have branded him a servant-leader for his down-to-earth qualities, a character mostly uncommon among government officials. His quest to improve on national development, he said had been exemplified in a project of projects he had initiated across the district more his colleague DCEs in the Ashanti Region and even beyond and that he works call for his honour. Nana Ampong said Dr Ogbordjor, a medical doctor has instituted free extra and vacation classes for schoolchildren in the deprived community of Donkorkrom in the Afram Plains area.
