Mahama Gambling With Lives Of Ghanaians

As if featuring in a game of uncertainties where one cannot determine what the outcome would be, President John Dramani Mahama is said to be gambling with the lives of Ghanaians. That habit, according to New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspiring Youth Organiser, Gifty Oware-Aboagye, is because the president and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration have lost it and cannot deliver on the Better Ghana agenda they promised during the 2012 General Elections. In an interview with Today, Ms. Oware-Aboagye stressed that the NDC Government [led by President Mahama] is gambling with the lives of people; with policies, with strategies and especially with how the country is being ruled, she noted. To her, the leader of government is also practising a laissez-faire type of leadership in which he just directs policies to be implemented without knowing the definite outcome of such policies. is just like one head of a group that says today we want to jump unto a jamboree and everyone jumps and if it doesnt work, then they make use of a different strategy, she added. The 27-year-old who is the only female aspirant of the much sought after NPP youth organiser portfolio is convinced her party on assumption of office in 2017 after winning the 2016 elections would perform better than the administration which to her, is managing the country like a game of cards. The President is managing the country like he is playing spar [playing cards,] you put one there, if it doesnt work for you, you put another adding that the lack of clear-cut policies and personnel to execute such policies is causing a lot of confusion in the Mahama administration which is finding it difficult to save the countrys sinking economy. She thus advised the president to consider appointing competent people to manage the country during the next reshuffle of ministers which she could not predict whether it would be soon or later, arguing that party loyalty should not be rewarded over the interest of the country. On the position of youth organiser of the largest opposition party which she is contesting, she was of the opinion that her sexual orientation does not perturb her at all, especially as she has suffered several abuses as an upcoming female politician. The former vice president of the Ghana United Nations Student Association (GUNSA,) said she is in the race to win and bring along policies that would better the lot of not only the youth of her party but also the country in general. She was of the opinion that her election would witness an influx of many floating voters into the party who would in turn vote for the party in 2016. I will work to bring on board first-time voters and floating voters as they determine the outcome of every election in the country, she promised. Ms. Oware-Aboagye also dispelled the belief that NPP youth are frustrated and want to leave the party because they are not offered the opportunity to air their views and also feature prominently in national assignments. She argued that the party has a mentorship process that grooms everyone that is seeking to lead the country thus making the NPP always have the best when it comes to governance. This process, she believes has not cost the party that much opining that people who were once NPP but left to join other parties including the NDC did so because they did not have true convictions of the partys ideologies. Maybe they left because they wanted a cheap way to success, she said.
