Darfur Crisis Can Be Resolved "Only Through Dialogue And Negotiation"

The top United Nations envoy in Darfur has stressed that it is only through dialogue and negotiation that the crisis in the Sudanese region can be resolved. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, the head of the African Union/UN Hybrid operation in Darfur (UNAMID), spoke to reporters in the capital Khartoum on Thursday. He said in 2013, the conflict in Darfur surpassed a decade with a steep escalation of inter-communal conflict and fighting between government forces and armed movements.
