Implementation Of Darfur Peace Agreement "Has Progressed Very Slowly": UN official

The implementation of a peace agreement to end the conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan has been very slow, according to the head of UN peacekeeping operations. Herv� Ladsous briefed the Security Council on Thursday on the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur. The document, which is now the framework for the peace process, was finalized in Doha, Qatar, in May 2011.
