John Peter Amewu Wins NPP Volta Regional Chairmanship Position

The NPP Regional has taken place in Ho with John Peter Amewu emerging as the Regional Chairman. He polled 224 to beat the closest competitor, lawyer Kwami Owusu Yeboah who had 185 votes. An agriculturist, Julius Kwame came third with 22 votes. The 1st Vice-Chairman position was won by Dr. Archibald Letsa with 208 votes, followed by Johnson Avulate 125, Efo Philipo Nyaho-Dalti had 77 while Abdulahi Awal Nakori had 19 votes. An educationist Madam Happy Esther Edzeani won the 2nd Vice-Chairperson position with 243 votes to beat Seth Ohene Frimpong who had 143 votes and Gilbert Adjei with 42 votes. Joseph Homenya took the post of secretary with 152 votes with Appea Kwami Fenteng following with 144 and Kenneth Ayim and Charles Kwesi McCarthy trailing with 75 and 61 votes. A physically disabled Joshua Makubu won the Assistant Secretary post with 184 votes, beating Roland Pekyi Jones who had 145 and Roland Fiakpe 102. Makafui Woanya is now the Regional Organizer, he had 211 votes as against, Evans Ayivor�s 123, Abdbullah Mohammed�s 54 and Attah Oye Nestor�s 43. The women Organizer position goes to Akua Sika Nkansah who polled 222 votes as against Rejoice Agyagbo 129 and Fidelia Dorleku 79. Maxwell Koffie Lugudor is now the youth Organizer, he polled 166 votes to defeat Bodja Emmanuel 96, Divine Bosson-86, Enoch Amegbletor 76 and Dufe Martin, 8. Two person contested the post of treasurer with Joseph Denteh having 280 votes to beat Anthony Kobla Avorgbedor 151 with one ballot paper rejected. Hajia Adisah Fuseini had 12 votes to become the regional Nasra Coordinator, She defeated Alhaji Issa Yakubu who had 11 votes. The rest Zarri Fuseini has five while Adotey Salifu Ibrahim had two.
