Ban Ki-moon Calls For Investment In Girls In Development Countries

Investing in adolescent girls in developing countries can help drive progress in meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) according to the UN Secretary-General. Speaking at an event in Davos, Switzerland where he is attending the World Economic Forum, Ban Ki-moon said the deadline for the MDGs was just over 700 days away. The MDGs are goals set by world leaders in 2000 to eradicate extreme poverty and to promote gender equality.
