Opportunity International Savings and Loans Launch 10th Anniversary Celebration

Opportunity International Savings and Loans Ghana Limited (OISL) has launched a series of activities to celebrate its 10th Anniversary in Ghana at a staff retreat at Nyanyanu in the Central Region. The year-long celebration is under the theme �Clients at the center of our Business� and re-affirms the Company�s commitment to creating value for their customers and making an impact in the Ghanaian society. Activities outlined for the celebration include a Clients Appreciation week, financial literacy programs, Micro Finance activities, a deposit mobilisation campaign, SME clinics and an Anniversary dinner. The Chairman of the occasion, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Darko, First Board Chairman of the Company expressed his delight in the growth of the Seed sown 10 years ago and the impact it has made in the lives of the working poor. �I am happy to see the significant role OISL is making in Ghana�s Micro Finance industry� Rev. Darko said. . In his address, the CEO of the Company, Mr. Kwame Owusu-Boateng highlighted some of the achievement of the company in the past 10 years including; the establishment of 35 Branches in 6 Regions, 4 mobile vans, 14 Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), 4 Community Banking Centres with a total deposit of 57.3 million and a loan portfolio of 66.9 million to the micro business sector. It is currently serving about 334,261 deposit clients and 70,070 loan clients as at the end of October 2013. Since its establishment in 2004, the Company has played a significant role in Ghana�s micro finance industry. He thanked the clients an staff of the company for their loyalty over the years. �Together, we have made opportunity a success. Together we have made sure that we can gather here today and celebrate our first milestone anniversary�, he said.
