Orders To Kill Cattle Amounts To Declaring War - Fulani Group

The Fulani community in Ghana says the orders given by the Asante Akyem North Member of Parliament, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang to his constituents to kill stray cattle belonging to Fulani herdsmen in the area is tantamount to declaration of war. Mr. Agyemang stated that the police in the area have refused to comply with a court order to evict the Fulani herdsmen from the area. He also said since security agencies have failed to offer his constituents the needed protection hence, the shoot to kill order will help bring sanity in the area. According to Mr. Agyemang, Fulanis have continually made life difficult for people living in the community. He said the decision was as a result of consensus reached between him and the various chiefs and people in order to protect lives and properties. The MP said they could no longer rely on the security agencies to protect them, stressing that he has also declined an invitation by the local police for an amicable settlement. But speaking to Citi News, the Head of the Fulani Community in Ghana, Alhaji Mohammed Mingle described the MPs comment as unfortunate. Alhaji Mingle also stated that the MPs decision was inappropriate, This is an unfortunate decision especially coming from the legislature,a member of parliament. What kind of person is he? He cant just instruct people to take their guns and start shooting. He is just declaring war,Alhaji Mingle said.
