MTN Heroes of Change On TV

MTN Heroes of Change, an initiative of telco giant MTN to identify and recognize heroes who have provided unconditional services to their communities, has started showing on several television channels in the country. The 13 episode series airs on Crystal TV (7.30pm); Metro TV (8.00pm); Multi TV (8.00pm); eTV Ghana (8.00pm) and TV Africa (8.30pm). Directed by Ivan Quashigahs Farmhouse Productions, the series will air on Sundays over the next 13 weeks. Launched in July last year at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, the project seeks for men and women as well as young and old who have sacrificed their energy, time and other resources to improve their communities and helped to brighten the lives of people around them. Cynthia Lumor, Corporate Services Executive at MTN Ghana has said that the Heroes of Change is an important project which MTN believed would make a great impact on this country. The project flows out of the desire for the improvement of the well-being of MTN customers and the promotion of sustainable initiatives in the communities in which we operate, Ms Lumor said. Though the public nominated the 20 personalities whose good work in their communities would be seen over the next 13 weeks, they dont decide who wins in the various categories or who the eventual overall winner would be. The panel of judges includes Sidney Casely Hayford, a Chartered Accountant as well as business and financial analyst and Ibrahim Awal, founder and CEO of Marble Communications Group, publishers of the Finder newspaper. Others are Albert Ocran, and Dr. Doris Yaa Dartey, a communications professional and chairperson of the board of directors of the Graphic Communications Group Limited.
