Arrest Asongtaba And SADA Management Pressure Group

A Non-Governmental Organization called the Northern Youth for Peace and Development (NYUPED) has commended the government for abrogating the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority-Asongtaba guinea fowl project. The group wants government to retrieve the Ghc15 million cedis pumped into the project which reports said did not yield any positive results. By extension, Executive Director of NYUPED, Prince Hardi Adams, admonished government to prosecute all those indicted on the SADA-Asongtaba guinea fowl project report. He served notice of gathering about 2,000 signatories from the youth in the three regions of the north to file a petition at the United Nations offices in Accra and Parliament. The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) was set up to bridge the development gap between the rich south and the poor north. The programme has however, been fraught with massive allegations of corruption, necessitating a probe upon which report the President recently directed the Attorney General to abrogate two contracts guinea fowl rearing and afforestation and tree-planting projects signed with private company Asongtaba Cottage Industries (ACI).
