Local Black Stars Angry Over Unpaid Bonuses

Players and officials of Ghana's Local Black Stars are still locked at the M Plaza Hotel in Accra and have refused to rejoin their clubs in anger over unpaid bonuses, Ghanasportsonline can exclusively confirm. The team which won Silver at the just ended CHAN tournament in South Africa landed in Ghana on Monday but have still not received their winning bonuses and promises made by the ministry. The players have thus decided not to break camp and rejoin their clubs until all bonuses owed them have been duly settled. An official who spoke to Ghanasportsonline on anonymity told us "The players are yet to receive all their bonuses and we have been in the hotel since Monday but nobody is talking to us and nobody has even told us what is going on". "Infact, it is not only the players but all the officials are very furious about what is happening because we are not kids and we deserve better for at least what we went out there to do". "What is more disheartening is the fact that since we touched down, not even a bird from either the GFA or Ministry has come to say thank you and you think we should just pack our luggages and go home," he added. Ghanasportsonline has gathered that league Champions Asante Kotoko have made arrangements to airlift their players from Accra to Kumasi ahead of their CAF champions League match against Liberian side BYC on Sunday.
