We Want To Prove A Point Lartey

Robert Lartey, coach of Asante Kotokos Champions League opponent, Barrack Young Controller (BYC) has said his charges are not oblivious of the Porcupine Warriors threat as they seek to take the continent by storm. Kotoko host the Liberian side in the first leg of the preliminary round duel in the Garden City on Sunday, and Lartey told GNA Sports as the team arrived on Wednesday night that we are in high spirit and desperate to prove a point. The team is preoccupied with doing well so we can bring pride to our people back home. We know the pedigree of Kotoko on the continent but we are hungrier and cannot be underrated. BYC won the treble League, the Liberian Cup (knock-out) and Super Cu last season to earn a shot at the Champions League. Lartey said We respect Kotoko a lot because we know their quality; we also saw some of the players among the Ghanaian team that finished second at the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa. We are aware of the attacks they will throw at us and we are ready for it. The team has prepared for the task; to test the strength of their (Kotoko) defence. Kotoko will honour the return leg in a fortnight.
