Owusu Bempah Dares Nsumankwahene: Why Should I Apologise To Otumfuo? (AUDIO)

"Why Should I apologise for praying for Otumfuo...Should I have kept quiet for him to die...God gave me a revelation and I prayed against it so why should I apologise? Rev. Owusu Bempah stated unequivocally. "I owe no one an apology. I have not erred. I'm an Ashanti and I respect the King and his kingdom, but I am also a man of God and I did as the Lord directed me," he added. Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, Founder and Leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International made this statement after the Head of the Spiritual Division of Asanteman (Nsumankwaahene), Baffuor Asabre Kogyawoasu Ababio III, insisted he must apologise or face the wrath of the deities of Asanteman. Nana Nsumankwaahene said the renowned man of God should apologise for saying that he prayed to avert a revelation he received about the death of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with the sole aim of gaining popularity. But speaking in an interview on PEACE FM evening News bulletin on Tuesday, February 11, Rev. Owusu-Bempah stated categorically that I have done nothing wrong to apologise. I have never said Otumfuo will die and I am not trying to become popular. Recounting an earlier experience, he said there is no way he will sit down for another person to die when he can pray to avert it. He indicated that he had not received any summons from Manyhia (Asantehene's palace); however, if he is summoned, he will personally go to Otumfuo to explain to him - "I do not think he will chastise me or ask me to apologise for praying for him". ..during our 31st December all night, I had a revelation that if we dont pray, the Asantehene or his mother will die...I dont believe Otumfuo will ask me to apologise for offering prayers for him. It is Nana Nsumankwaahene who is putting out these things. There is no king or chief who would not like to be prayed for. It is not a matter of being popular, I want Jesus to be popular and I want my king to live and that was why I prayed. I am not going to apologise for something I saw and prayed against and that will also not stop me from speaking or praying for Otumfuo or anybody else, he said in no uncertain terms.
