Reverend Joseph Adongo, General Overseer of the International Prophetic Centre, has warned religious leaders to desist from merchandising the gospel. He noted that the situation where monies were demanded from individuals by the men of God before services were rendered was not biblical. Rev Adongo gave the warning when speaking to launch this year�s �Operation 1,000 Babies� campaign at Ashalley Botwe-Nmai Dzorn near Madina in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday. The campaign which would take off on Saturday, March 1, is aimed at praying freely for 1,000 couples who have married for years, but have no babies, for God to have favour on them to have 1,000 babies and also offer them financial support. �Nobody can pay for the price of Jesus,� Rev Adongo said, adding that demanding money for anointing oil, holy water and prayers did not come from God. The General Overseer suggested to his colleagues to let them sow seed instead. where monies would be given from their own hearts to help the work of God. Rev Adongo advised the couples who had no babies to desist from moving from shrine to shrine, which sometimes would lead them to have children with bad behaviours, but rather put their trust in God for their needs. He also urged the youth to avoid the get-rich-quick attitude and be addicted to the word of God at all times. This, he said, would let their dreams be fulfilled. Rev Adongo said the church through the Adongo Joseph Foundation and Devine Touch Foundation had offered scholarships to many people in the community. He said the church in the near future would put up an ultra-modern school and hospital to cater for the poor and the needy free of charge.
