XCLUSIV FOTOS: Komla Dumor's Final Journey Day One

The entire nation is in a solemn mood today Friday February 21 as the final three day journey of proud Ghanaian and African son Komla Dumor begins. Today�s ceremony began with a requiem mass held at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra, for the late BBC Ghanaian Journalist. It was attended by a sizable chunk of well-wishers, friends and former working colleagues, some of who were from the BBC. The Mass was moderated by Metropolitan Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, Palmer Buckle, who urged the youth to walk in the footsteps of Komla Dumor to lift the flag of Africa high. Bishop Palmer-Buckle encouraged them to take the occasion of Komla�s death as a period to renew their faith in God while believing in the resurrection story. Cr�me de la cr�me of media personalities, Politicians, family and friends gathered to walk pass Komla�s mortal remains. Some of the familier faces include; Ex-President JJ Rawlings, Lawyer and Oil mogul Tsatsu Tsikata, Politician Akua Donkoh, Business tycoon Ibrahim Mahama, Football Administrator and bosom friend of Komla Herbert Mensah, Deputy Minister of Education Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, NPP National Chairman Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, NPP MP for Subin Hon. Isaac Osei, ‎CEO of Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications Kwaku Sakyi Addo, Kofi Tsikata of the World Bank, Mr. Ekow Spio Gabrah among others. Known faces from the media present include; Peace FM�s Kwami Sefa Kayi, Randy Abbey from Metro TV, Paul Adom Okyere, Samuel Atta Mensah (Samens) of Citi FM, Bolaray, Doreen Andoh, Ken Attoh all from Multimedia, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) from Radio Gold among others. A liturgical service will be held at the Forecourt of the State House tomorrow Saturday, February 22, 2014, followed by a private family burial. The final part of the funeral rites will be a thanksgiving service at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Komla Dumor, 41, died in his London home on Saturday, January 18, this year. The body was flown to Ghana on February 3, 2014. Born in Accra on October 3, 1972, Dumor graduated from the University of Ghana with a BSc in Sociology and Psychology, after studying medicine initially.
