Sir John, Jake Flying High

The smear campaign, evil machinations and various hate agenda that were activated within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to derail the re-election agenda of some incumbent national executives, especially General Secretary, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, and National Chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, could not cause the intended havoc. The two are in pole position to be re-elected into office to serve the party again, come April 12, this year. After the failure of the heinous agenda against the two, other contestants have resorted to weak media game plan to make things look as if they were winning when the real facts on the grounds point to the contrary. Mr. Afriyie refused to speak to "The Enquirer" about his campaign, while efforts to reach Mr. Obestsebi-Lamptey proved futile. However, credible information available To "The Enquirer" indicates that the two are leading the pack for their respective positions. Mr. Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, The Enquirer gathered, is said to running a campaign called Project 2016 Submarine. "The Enquirer" gathered that the incumbent General Secretary has decided not to engage himself in any media game. Shockingly, Mr. Afriyie is number one on the ballot paper to be used for the Tamale scheduled elections. Interestingly, Mr. Afriyie, as the General Secretary of the party, did not shirk responsibility to conduct various polling station, constituency and regional elections, making him to start campaign late. The Enquirers probe has revealed that the General Secretary has toured seven regions so far and received massive endorsement. Mr. Afriyies trump card has been his strong relation with the grassroots members of the party. Again, he is well known within the corridors of the NPP as not arrogant and as somebody who could be approached without difficulty. Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey, just like Mr. Afriyie, is also running a decent and quiet campaign and has so far not responded to various attack on him. He is also reported to have toured most of the regions, as he also did not start his campaign early because of various programme of the NPP. Mr. Afriyie and Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey, since declaring their intention to seek re-election, have come under all kinds of attacks. Some of the attacks, including a very dirty one that came from Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, were made public, while others resorted to using emissaries to go round with lies about two top national executives. In fact, a certain topnotch of the NPP even went to the extent of using hireling to attack the two on various platforms.
