Fuel Prices Reviewed Upwards

The National Petroleum Authority has announced new prices of petroleum products with effect from Saturday, March 1, 2014. Petrol has gone up to 6.25 per cent per litre and will now sell at GH2.55 pesewas per litre. Kerosene will sell at GH2.60 per litre. Gas oil has gone up from GH2.50 to GH 2.65. However, premix, which is mainly used by fishermen, would just go up by 3.45 per cent per litre and would be selling at the pumps at GH1.20 pesewas. But prices of LPG and RFO remain unchanged. The Public Relation Officer of the NPA, Mr Yaro Kasambata, explained that the increment had been occasioned by the depreciation of the cedi and the crude oil price on the world market. The increment is in line with the National Petroleum Authority's plan to review prices of the various petroleum products every two weeks he said.
