Cal Bank Shooting: I Didn�t Attempt Snatching Gun � Victim

One of the two people who were shot at by an angry policeman at the Derby Avenue branch of Cal Bank in Accra on Saturday, Nathaniel, has denied reports that he attempted to snatch the gun from the police officer. �According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the officer in question said I [Nathaniel] held his weapon or I was trying to reach for his weapon that is why he fired; we can�t work with this,�� he noted. According to Nathaniel, everyone has an opinion, but "when the CCTV surveillance comes out, we will all know what really went on in the bank". "I didn�t go in for any policeman�s weapon, what am I going to do with his weapon," he quizzed. A policeman on duty at the Derby Avenue branch of Cal Bank in Accra, on Saturday, shot and injured two persons out of anger. The policeman who was on duty at the bank opened fire on customers in the banking hall and injured some customers. The Accra Regional Police PRO, Freeman Tettey, is said to have told a section of the media after the incident that the police officer�s gun went off after the victim [Nathaniel] attempted to snatch it from him.
