The Woes of the dismissed DCE for Ahafo Ano South in the Ashanti Region, Gabriel Barimma, also known as �Tweeaaaa DCE,� are not over as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in the district are calling for his blood. The NDC faithful said since the DCE had misconducted himself and suffered dismissal, he had no business remaining in office, and gave him up to 2:00pm yesterday to vacate the Mankraso District office of the Assembly. According to the local NDC members, the DCE finished his job on the day he was sacked and therefore could not use the office for any business. They claimed also that the DCE was absent during the Independence Day celebration at the Independence Square in Accra, indicating that he had finished his job and wondered what he was doing at the district office. The appointment of the �Tweeaa DCE� was terminated last Wednesday through a terse statement issued in Accra and signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Raymond Atuguba. It read in part, �The President, exercising the powers conferred on him by the Local Government Act section 204, has dismissed The DCE for Ahafo Ano South, Gabriel Barimma, with immediate effect.� The Ashanti Regional Minister, according to the statement, had been directed to act until a substantive DCE was appointed. The beleaguered DCE was given the dismissal order by the Presidency for allegedly bragging about how the infamous �Tweeaaaa� rhetoric he made at a public function, had made him very popular. Gabriel Barimma was recently caught on film throwing tantrums and walking out on people at a public function in response to a derogatory interjection ��tweeaaaa�- made by someone in the audience to register his protest against a statement the DCE might have made at a durber. Despite being dismissed about a week ago, Mr. Barimma was said to be going to the office at Mankranso and working as usual � as if he was still the DCE of the area � to the discomfort of the NDC members. But the DCE, according to information gathered by this paper, had been fighting back with his supporters insisting that no letter of dismissal had been given to him. They claimed that a letter communicating his dismissal had not been given to Mr. Barimma and so he could not be forced out of office. The supporters have therefore warned those compelling him to leave the office to desist from the agitation, else they would be faced squarely. However, deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Samuel Yaw Adusei, stated that the dismissal DCE would leave office by the close of the week. Mr. Yaw Adusei said there was no iota of truth in speculations making the rounds that Mr. Barimma was not ready to leave the office after his dismissal. Hand Over The Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister said ideally, the Regional Minister, Eric Opoku and the Regional Coordinating Council had already directed Mr. Barimma to leave office. According to him, the DCE�s work was an administrative one and so before leaving office, he was supposed to put his records in order and properly hand over to ensure continuity of work. He admonished people in the district to abide by the laws of the land, stressing that Mr. Barimma was ready to leave office peacefully, so nobody should create trouble in the area.
