Party members and executives of the opposition New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region are upbeat about the much anticipated visit of the 2012 flagbearer of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu-Addo is expected to arrive in the Ashanti Region for the first time after his long political vacation in London. He will be in the region for two days and is expected to address party supporters, meet executives of the region, and also meet the Asantehene Otumfour Nana Osei Tutu II. Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Sam Payne, told Ultimate Radio, party members will meet him at the Kumasi airport Tuesday afternoon to give him a rousing welcome to usher him into the region. Nana Addo is expected to touch base with core members and executives of the party in separate meetings on Wednesday before parading some streets in the central business districts of Kumasi. �Mid morning, we will go through the principal streets of Kumasi through Asafo, to Adum. We will pass through Hello Fm, in front of the Central Market through Roman Hill to Allah Bar� he outlined Mr. Sam Payne said the team was expecting a huge turnout of party supporters along the earmarked streets. He explained that even though no arrangements have been made for Nana Addo to address the crowd, �it could be a possibility if it becomes necessary�. He also dismissed suggestions s that Nana Addo was using the move to test the waters in assessing his strengths for a possible acceptance of the many calls on him to lead the party for the third time in the presidential race. �Nana already has the support and it is not that he wants to test the waters. People have been asking anxiously when he will be returning to Ghana and he is just here to show himself to his supporters� he defended. The visit will be climaxed with a visit by Nana Addo to the Manhyia Palace before he returns to the greater Accra Region.
